How much CPUpower are we using these days?

I am not talking about gaming.

I have a i7-4510U with 2.0 turbo to 3.1

with an SSD and 8GB RAM

On the other hand I have a i7-6700K with NVMe M.2

When I am using both computers (non gaming) for everyday tasks like Chrome and shit, they perform about the same

And I am also monitering temps and usage on the CPU + RAM

CPU usage is about 4% on both + RAM usage is about 3GB.

SO for an everyday computer builder, what is the best fastest cheapest intel setup possible?

I need those 40 PCI-e express lanes.

Pretty much.

If youre just using it for internet browsing, paper writing, email, ect Id say go with a Pentium.

If youre doing light gaming then go with the I3

I'm gonna drop some OEM knowledge on you.  There are 4 major classes of computers for End-Users.

1. Enthusiast.  This is your "I want to have it all" crowd.  Typically a Enthusiast system is going to cost in the $2000 range and is going to be built on a platform like X99.  This is for someone who is going to be using 3+ monitors, probably doing at least 3-4 applications at a time (and not just web browsers, like video games, stock market monitoring programs, or some kind of calculations and graphic designs).

2. Performance.  This is your crowd that wants to play the latest and greatest video games.  Typically this system is going to be built on a Z170 style chipset, where the goal is to just perform in 1-2 applications really well.  You'll find 1 really beefy monitor, and typically normal programs like steam, skype, and open broadcaster taking up most of the users time.

3. Mainstream.  This is the computer that your mom and dad or a college graduate might use.  Typically built around a H170 chipset kind of system where they want to do everything, but don't really care if they get the GREATEST performance out of it.  This kind of system would include doing task like watching youtube videos, or playing a game on facebook.

4. Entry/Value.  This is the "I just need a computer to check my email" crowd.  This is typically the H110 chipset and complimenting parts.  The most intensive thing these machines are made to do is simply use a word processor or view a webpage.  The very second you do something like open a youtube video you enter the mainstream category.

Okay, so what I'm getting at here is that all of the systems can work down, and you wont see a ounce of performance difference.  A webpage like linustechtips.com is going to open just as fast on a value system as a enthusiast system.  But they cant work up the list, for example Adobe Premier isn't going to run very well at all on a value level system but will be butter smooth on a enthusiast based system.

I hope this was described well, as its kinda late and I'm not even sure what I'm typing now ;P

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!
