let ur old man worry about it, go play in the bush.  Not enough young fella's like yourself do that these days.  Learn how to make a fire, catch a fish 'n' stuff like that.

30 acres ay?  maybe get yourself a paddic bomb, rebuild a troopy or customise your own 4by.

I think that this isn't the place to be asking. There are a dozen companies here in Australia that serve the sole purpose to compare and contrast different packages from different providers for services.

Yeah true we just wanted to get some honest reviews about the good and bad of certain company's.

He just wanted me to post here to get some honest reviews on company's so he wouldn't be jumping from company to company trying to find a decent one.

All power companies are the same, they need to make money and will have some gimmick or special to wind you in, but at the end of the day there isn't a great deal of difference between them.  Just use the energy comparison websites or whatever they are called, I think there is a government one.

Have a PV solar grid system, and ways to catch and store rainwater.

the goverment has screwed the PV grid up you get bugger all money back - almost giving the government free power. still worth it but not as much as if you installed it 2 - 3 years ago

storm water would be a go idea if you get a pump in case you get a bush fire, plus water for the yard - get the biggest you can afford

I know AGL is a Victoria company maybe give them a buzz

Its all about those volumetric clouds

Yeah but experiences with billing and that they don't randomly charge you large amounts of money we don't want the Telstra equivalent of anything.

The land is basically 34 acres of grass so if we keep the grass all low then we will be fine.

I believe the property gets all the water from to tanks not sure on the litres.

Those experiences are included in my statement that "they are all the same".  At that end of the day it is pot luck if you have no issues with whatever company you choose.  I have yet to meet someone who has not had an issue with their power company.

I don't mean to sound pessimistic but thats the color of life.

Yeah mostly it's just luck of the draw but some company's truly screw you around like Telstra.
