HP/Compaq laptop battery recall

Everyone check your laptop battery via the source link and if it's affected HP will send you a new one for free.

On June 14, 2016 HP announced a worldwide voluntary safety recall and replacement program in cooperation with various government regulatory agencies, for certain notebook computer batteries. The affected batteries were shipped with specific HP, Compaq, HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and HP Pavilion Notebook Computers sold worldwide from March 2013 through August 2015, and/or were sold as accessories or spares, or provided as replacements through Support. These batteries have the potential to overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to customers.

I got this laptop in September 2013, but the automatic tool doesn't say its affected. So that's good, I guess. Battery life sucks on it anyway, but I honestly never even take it of the charger lol.

I don't use my HP Pavilion from 2011 any more, I spilled water on the keyboard. But it was from 2011 so it probably wasn't affected.

My Probook 455, which I got in the end of 2014 is not affected. :)

Very interesting, the HP ProBook 4540s I bought 3 years ago that the dvd drive and hard drive have both failed in isn't affected, sorta expected it be at this point lol.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Mine was and still is great.  I know some are definitely crap though, or have been.
