Hello, I need some assistance in what program would be the best to create posters similar to this

I need to make something similar to this for a project in school. I only need something basic and doesn't need to be that advanced. Would something like GIMP or some other paint program be best to make this? Thanks!

 

Also needs to be free haha

GIMP should be fine for that.

Paint.net is aweosme too. give it some love :P

 

+1 but, I would take GIMP over it as I am more use to it.

 

Photoshop > GIMP > Paint.net > MS Paint?>...
