Need an Access Point Recommendation!

I have a budget of less than $50, and I need it to plug into my walls ethernet. All I will be using this for is having a better signal in my room, as the router is a good couple walls away. Thanks in advance.

Repeater or AP?

 

 the low end unfiy ap's are great and arount 60usd

 

otherwise buy a 50 dollar router and turn of the router part.

I don't know the difference between the two, I am not going to ask you to explain so what do I need? All I am using whatever I am getting is as a better connection point as my router is a ways away

What is the speed of your internet? If it is less then 60Mb/s get a used WRT 54g they are like $15 on ebay and will work perfectly

I didn't put it in the desc. but it has to be able to be bought off of amazon. I am using whatever I will be buying as a better point of connection as I am always watching linus' videos in 144p lol

Do you have a wired ethernet going to the box? then get a AP(acess point). A extender takes wifi and then boosts it and doesn't need a ehternet jack

I have an ethernet jack in my room, so I am going to assume it is wired all the way to the switch/router? So yes I need an AP then

Get a unify ap for about 60 dollars.

 

You could also just get a 50 dollar router and only use if for wireless(don't plug in the wan jack).

Yep. Plug your internet into the lan jack and configure it in the web interface.
