A second hand second Asus GTX 780 DirectCU II OC 3gb gddr5 (2 total SLI) or new card?

ramm

What would you do if you already have a single ASUS GTX 780 DirectCU II OC 3gb gddr5?

Get a second hand second card so you have 2 ASUS GTX 780 Direct CUII OC 3gb gddr5 so you can SLI both of these cards or buy a newer: better card?

is that better than a 2nd gtx780? I hoped to do SLI one day. But I dont know if it would be worth it.

the thing is not every game has good sli scaling, take it from me, i have 970 sli and in some games i see no difference at all, 970 sli is about 980ti-titan x performance, a 1070 is just a tad better than a titan x, so a 1070 will be better than 780 sli.

One stronger card will always be the better choice than two weaker ones because SLI/Crossfire just contains too many issues to have a seamless experience.

When SLI is properly utilised, they'll be roughly the same in performance in comparison to a GTX 1070. That said, consider my points above. The GTX 1070 is the superior choice - the 3GB of VRAM will be a limiting factor.

Better off selling it. It would be pointless to use it as a PhysX card and I can't think of any applications in which it would be useful.

I wouldn't count on SLI or Crossfire

It isn't reliable now, so at best can only be taken as a future option.

How much do you have to play with, if you were to sell your old card?

well i saw them being sold for 150€ - 200€ so I guess i was wiling to put that much in a new card. Depends on how much the 1070 will cost
