GTX1070 Price Released for Hong Kong - $631 USD

ImBleu

So I'm rather pissed off as leaks here have shown the price to be around the $3700 HKD ($475 USD) region (which was about where the GTX970 is/was). Having checked local stores today, the price is as staggering $4900 HKD ($631 USD). I've been waiting for the 1070 release to finally put a gpu in my skylake build as i sold off my haswell build with my GTX980.

Is it really worth paying $630 USD for a GTX1070FE? I'm currently running off Intergrated graphics and not really enjoying it.

Click-baitey title, the price is obviously going to slowly drop as more board partners come out with cards and I really dont think $631 is a price that will stay at all, probably a leak price and only a leak price.

I would just wait man, or if not then take it up the butt and pay release prices.

It's not click baity as it's a fact, and its the price listed on multiple hong kong based hardware shops as it's been released about 12 hours ago here.

You're not alone. Down under the 1080 is about +$300 from converted price. Plus difference between founders and nonreference is $30ish bucks

Why does this still surprise people?!?  It happens every time a new card is released.  Vendors jack the price as there is a ton of demand while little supply.  Didn't anyone take Econ in highschool or college?  Once production ramps up so there is a steady supply at the stores, the price will settle down to a normal point, but that might take 1-3 months.

All we need to do is wait.

And look at all the youtube vids that showcased the cards (non-reference ones), the full specs have not even come out yet.

Wait a little longer, then we shall see the full pic.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.
