Problem with my power supply, HALP!

I have a lenovo y510p laptop. the problem is the following.

 

Lets say my laptop have the power supply plugged in and the battery as well, if i unplug the power supply, it will fall on battery, but if i plug it back it will stay on battery. What i have to do to work around this problem is remove the battery, unplug the power supply from the wall, hold the power button on my laptop for a couple of seconds then plug the power supply back in the wall, then it will properly power up on the power supply and i can proceed to put the battery back with no issue.
