I'm going to buy whatever is the first available of the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW and the Strix GTX 1080 OC. I like the cooler design of the Strix, but have little confidence in ASUS customer service, on the other hand I have tons of confidence in EVGA's customer service but feel their ACX3 cooler design looks terrible.

Do we have any solid info as to when the FTW and Strix OC will be available (and not from Amazon scalpers for hundreds more than it should cost)?

I spend too much on my PC. Then I spend even more on my Sim Rig. Damn, this stuff's expensive.

Can we wait till reviews start coming out first? I don't wish for another 970 Strix incident. Peeps should be asking whether or not the card is good. Not whether or not/when it is available. That is a question for later.

Now, as for availability. I'm guessing the strix will be out first.

Wait for benchmarks first. From what I've been hearing lately, the STRIX doesn't look all too good.

Also consider the middle option - MSI. Whether you like the cooler or not is up to you but customer service is top notch from my experience.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

Why wait for benchmarks? They won't be that different from a FE with an overclock or the EVGA SC and Strix OC benchmarks we have seen already. I'm not interested in extreme overclocking, whatever I can get out with the ACX3 or Strix cooler without loosing the turbo clock will be fine and we already know the coolers can hold their cards boost clocks at 2ghz unlike the FE cooler. I would just go for the SC EVGA but RGB LEDs start at the FTW and that makes the cooler more tolerable since I'll be looking at it all day because of the vertical video card layout of the RVZ02 case. The Strix is the best looking to me, that's the only reason I'm considering it given Asus' terrible customer service. The Zotac is similar looking to the Asus, but I have no experience with them and they are a slightly harder brand to get in Australia.
