I have built my new computer, and the audio inputs do not automatically switch. The speakers are plugged in via the motherboard lime audio connector, whilst the headphones are connected through hd audio via the built in case connectors.

I can use the headphones fine, but I have to manually such by making the headphones the default device and vice versa.

I am using Windows 10.

Thanks

or you could connect all your audio devices to the mainboard audio and they'll both be always on?

the way you are connecting it is possible to make them work at the same time but it involves complicated configuration and tweaking and setting up a virtual audio mixer...

They won't switch unless you unplug one or the other, then they should. Also make sure you have the sound drivers from your mobo website and not the ones windows found on its own.

My speakers have an audio out on them, so I can just plug it in and the speakers automatically pass through the audio.
