1080/1070 + 3770k?

will the 3770k bottleneck 1080 or 1070? I just got the cpu this year and i dont want to change one right now, and i'm planning on upgrading, thanks

Yes, there will always be some level of bottlenecking, but not anything significant where you will need a platform upgrade from a 3770k. You'll be fine.

The 3770k is a great cpu, especially if you OC (though I know Ivy Bridge is a real mixed bag for OC).

Now if you're running a 1080p 60 Hz panel, the monitor will be the bottleneck.

Though on second thought this gameplay on Witcher 3 by Tech of Tomorrow shows the 1070 just barely staying over 60 fps in battles at 1440p medium! So maybe it's not really a 1440p card. I mean what are new games going to do to the 1070 if Witcher 3 pushes this card so close to the edge at medium?

wait i main 1080p gaming, and i just wanna max game out at 120fps (my monitor refresh rate), will the monitor bottleneck???
