So I want to be able to start recording stuff on my computer so that I can upload to YouTube. (No I'm not going to be one of those gaming channels, there are already too many)

But I just want to know if anybody knows of a good Screen capture device that will be well suited for YouTube

1080p60 would be nice, but I don't want it to be too expensive. 150 is my max, but if it's worth it to go a little above, I will.

Under 100 is highly preferrable. (USD)

Thank you!

Yes, OBS is free. It will also make it very hard for him to record games that are CPU intensive if he only has 4 cores or less.

Thy hath sinneth, and in thy life thou hast fallen to an unholy, unspeakable level of humanity. Thou hast given into your basest needs. And suffered many years under thine Satan-box. However, if thine be willing, as thy hast show yourself to be, thy can ascendeth into thy glorious fold of the glorious church. Go well, my brother, may your temps be low and your frames high. ~ MrDynamicMan

OBS has NVENC built in if he has an Nvidia GPU, there's a version with AMD VCE/AMF out there, and it has Quick Sync built in to use the iGPU of an Intel CPU if it has an iGPU.

Are you trying to record what's happening on your computer screen or what your webcam is seeing or are you trying to record what's happening on another source (video camera, a TV, etc.)?

there is absolutely no reason to pay for a capture card if youre just recording videos

waste of money
