72 hours without sleep

I will attempt to stay awake for 72 hours. Starting Sunday at 8 am, to finish Wednesday at 8 am. Yes, I'm really really bored and slightly insane. What do you think will be the side effects? Do you think I'll be able to do it? Would you do it :P?

I've done this many times, although admittedly I generally crash for 30-45min ever 10 hours while I patch a server or some shit.  More like 4 hours of sleep in 80 hours.  You generally become hyperaware after 20-30 hours, although I've never hallucinated or thought anything was going to kill me...  Not fun but sometimes necessary (rarely thankfully) 

 

I fucking clue why you'd do this without necessity...

Sounds like what I used to do on finals weeks but more like an hour of sleep ever 24 hours. Using a table saw on day 3 was probably not my best idea and I started to feel drunk on day 4

This is a terrible idea for many reasons.  The least of which it's really not fun.  

 

I hope you're not going to drive anywhere or do anything that requires real thought, because you'll lose those after about 24 hours.

i literally coulden't sleep no matter what and i still dont know why to this day

When I was at the worst point of my MMO addiction I would often stay awake for ~ 168 hours. Yes up to about a week.

There is a plentiful amount of research to be found on the internet.

 

From personal experience however; expect both your physical and psychological health to suffer. I was in a terrible way after one of these 'binges'. A few of the effects I experienced included: Hallucinations (all sensory), paranoia, full bodily shaking and severe depression. The depression especially helped to complete the vicious circle and increase the spiral of the addiction.

 

It takes a non trivial amount of time to recover from even a short period such as what you are considering.

i don't remember too much of it

I was laying down trying to sleep and my whole vision was sort of like a black hole for a second and i felt crawling on my skin with weird mosquitoes coming into my room like i was stuck

After about 28 hours I can't play games anymore, so I just lay around and eat food.

 

Also, boredom is the worst side effect.
