1st PC build - AU$1200

I'm looking to build my first computer, and would like some feedback on the parts I've picked. It would be used mostly for gaming.

I'm trying for something decent that I wont need to update for a while, and am hoping this is pretty good performance per $. I could get all the parts for this one for AU$1200 + OS + peripherals, sourced all new from locally and amazon. That is the most I could justify spending, any alternative suggestions would be considered.

-Can't overclock on a H110 motherboard, you need a Z170 mobo. Grab a i5 6500 instead if you're not overclocking.

 

-V300 is trash. The ADATA SP550 is a much better choice.

 

-R9 380 > GTX 960. Wait for AMD's Polaris to come out, the RX 480 should be in the same price range while boasting much more performance (current rumours put it at GTX 980 to R9 Fury range).

 

-PSU is bottom tier. You can pick up a XFX TS 550 for a few bucks more.

1. Wait for Polaris cards as they may offer more performance for the same price

2. you may want to get a locked CPU or a zxxx motherboard else you cannot overclock with that motherboard.

3. Get a better PSU, anything from Seasonic or XFX is guld (except XFX's XT series).

4. Trash SSD.
