thanks for the help, sadly the only value there was NoLockScreenCamera and it was already 1, setting it to 0 did nothing after a restart :/

If it's not there you'll have to create it. Go to the Personalization directory again and go:

right click inside Personalization folder>registry editor(if there)>new(may follow immediately after right clicking)>DWORD (32-bit) Value

A new icon will appear called New Value #1. Rename it NoLockScreen

Now change its value from 0 to 1 and restart the computer.

This should disable the cover page completely and upon startup take you strait to the login page

I'm talking about the animation where if you are logged out you hit any key to open the password screen the only trouble is I always hit space then type my password but the animation cuts off the whole first part of my passcode so I have to retype. Googling around I didn't find any answers. Thanks for any help

Yes, I did it on my system.

run regedit

goto: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization

select: NoLockScreen>modify

Change the value from 0 to 1

I had no Personalization folder but creating it worked too! :D

Something I failed to mention was sometimes the Personalization folder itself doesn't exist either and has to be created. Sorry.
