Issues with R9 390 Low FPS

So I was playing CSGO, just because I could. I tried it on Ultra settings, but it didn't perform. I was getting around 40fps. I reduced a couple of settings to "High" settings and it was back up at 60FPS. Can anyone help me? I am running the latest crimson drivers and I just installed the GPU yesterday.

You cant really tell if its thermal throttling simply by the fan speed percentage. I find the way the Crimson Drivers does automatic fan controller to be lousy in comparison to using MSI Afterburners user defined automatic fan profile. Your fans could be spinning at 20% while your GPU is melting. This happened to some people because of a glitch in early Crimson Driver builds were fan speed was locked at only 20% at all time while on automatic. Do you know what your temps are?

Well most likely the reason from what I have found is CSGO is a very CPU dependent game and base on your system configuration. Your systems bottleneck is your AMD A10 6800k not your AMD R9 390. This is not entirely a big deal just means you wont be able to run ultra on games that rely on the CPU.

But mah boy, a friend told me that I could verify the game cache and that would fix the automatic settings. I have the multicore rendering enabled

Verify the game cache only fixes corrupted or missing files within the game install directory. It has nothing to do with performance. Multicore rendering does not mean much in the scope of things. Throwing more CPU core at a game is not a magic switch. Aside from very select cases almost no game engines yet take full advantage of multicore rendering thus does not guarantee performance. That is why you can take a Intel i3 at 4ghz in most cases and out preform an Intel i5 at 3ghz in most games. If your gaming you want to get the CPU with the fastest core speed you can afford not the most cores.
