Computer freezing during Insurgency

My computer is crashing whilst playing Insurgency, I can't decipher anything that could be causing it other than the fact that I am using mobile data, and that is seems to crash when there is a lot of particles on the screen. Such as explosions or a sprinkler going off. When it does freeze up the speakers make a clicking noise and then I have to pull the plug, can anyone offer any solutions? My drivers are up to date and I don't think over heating is the issue.

Have you tried reinstalling?

No, I disabled "Soft particles" and I haven't experienced it again, yet. I can try installing later.
