do you really need an i7? you might want to add a SSD 120GB for your OS

I am not a computer expert however I can tell you things from my experience and from things I've heard on this site.

I'll try to help you as much as possible and suggest other things if needed.

Don't take this for granted and always do your own research!

I haven't decided on a graphics card yet but i just wanted to know how this looked to you guys.

What changes would you recommend?

I don't really have a budget because I just started saving but I don't something too much.

Thanks :)

Welcome to the LinusTechTips forum...

Some questions you didn't answer.

  • What are you using this build for?
  • Do you need a Windows key?
  • Do you need peripherals (I.E Mouse, Keyboard, etc.)

It is in CAD so it'll cost a little more...

That statement is actually quite dumb.

Agreed. A 6600k is the perfect gaming CPU, it's essentially a 6700k but without hyper-threading.

If you've just started saving up for the pc then it might not be the best idea to make a build plan yet. Save up until you're satisfied with how much you're going to be spending on your pc. That way the pc can be built around the budget instead of the other way around. And you really need a budget to select the right GPU, CPU and etc for it.

Welcome to the forums.

You'll need to tell us your use cases and the resolution you want to game at to get proper recommendations.

That being said, I can do a better build which includes a GPU for ~50 CAD more. Price includes tax.

Note: Next generation GPUs are right around the corner, but take this as a reference, if you are waiting. This is how much I'd spend on a GPU for a solid 1080P gaming build.

His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

Actually I'm sort of guilty about doing that too. I have yet to get a job and start saving for my build but I figured I'm willing to save however long it'll take for me to save the amount of money I'll need to buy something I want. Though I suppose I sort of had an amount of money I had in mind that I'd be willing to save up to so I could at least afford the PC and the peripherals. I'm not factoring in other important things like the desk and chair. But I have a 6' folding table and a kitchen chair that I could use in the meanwhile so I suppose in my case I should be fine as long as I get a job soon enough and start saving soon enough. Breaking my ankle has kinda thrown off the time frame I wanted to build my PC.

That actually looks really good, I don't particularly need to use that case, psu or mobo so feel free to make changes to that as well
