Google and Netflix what the fuck

PurpleDido

so I got a new phone, the s7 edge, and I downloaded Netflix and some pop up saying "email login lock" or some shit came up (I only had a second to read it)

It auto logged into my account from having my Gmail???

I'm so confused

But it was handy, I guess

I don't know how I feel about Google having all of my info anymore

I was under the impression that saved login information was held locally, not online

When you signed into your Gmail on Android google downloaded a copy of that information from Google's servers. Its never only been held locally, not really sure how that got started.
