Because 720p is bad isnt it?

Everyone using atlest 1080p monitor nowaday. I want to give them best quality till i buy new monitor in the summer.

How is 720p bad? Heck, I almost always watch videos in 720p because 1080p is generally a waste of bandwidth just to get a slightly sharper picture. If we were talking about the difference between 720 and 4k, then sure, huge difference, but 720p/1080p?
Watch a video in 720p, then watch it again in 1080, pause at the exact same frame, play "find the difference"

1080p look slightly sharper when downscaled to fit on the forum, but when they are both in fullscreen, there's barely any noticeable difference. Just upload in 720p for now.

I want to record videos and upload them to YouTube, but not sure about the quality.

For example you cant have 1440p or 4k quality video recorded on 1024p or 1080p screen right?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I plan buying 1080p or 1440p screen in the summer no money right now and till then want to record some gameplay videos.

Currently using 1280x1024 monitor you can find out for the exact model in my profile. Can i upload 1080p videos to YouTube if i record on 1280x1024 screen or i have to wait till summer for new monitor?

Regards!

As long as the original recording is made at the proper resolution, it will show on youtube.
Either that or you when you export the video, you upscale the resolution from say, 1080p to 4k.

I suggest recording in 720p with your current screen.

Doesnt it look worse when upscale?

No you can't. You need a 1080p monitor.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Damn..... What about this upscale thing?

If i upscale 720p video to 1080p, will it look better than 720p but worse than native 1080p

Pretty much yes.
But why not just leave it at 720p ?

It might look a bit better. I don't know much about is since I've never used it to record video BUT I know it won't be like using native 1080p.

It can be as a temporary solution but honestly it wouldn't really be all that much better.

Just use 720p for now. Then record in 1080p later. Oh and what recording software are you using and what codec are you using?

OBS is great. But what GPU are you using?

NVidia GPUs have a super magical Codec called NVENC.

It's awesomely efficient.

If you use Nvidia it would be stupid to not use NVENC.
