My laptop, which is from about 2009 I think. Up until 2 years ago it was a 2001 Sony vaio, but we retired it to the loft after I broke the front panel usb header whilst tinkering with it.

My sister have a Toshiba a.205, 1gb ram, 1.73ghz pentium, 120gb hdd itcan't even play 720p video.

That black thing on the bottom edge of the laptop No, that's no burn mark... The laptop's so worn down that what you're seeing is the color of the plastic under the coat of paint...

That would be my old Compaq Presario CQ56 laptop. I upgraded the CPU in it to a dual core Phenom 2 N660 3 GHz, and that made it very snappy. 8 GB RAM really helped as did the OCZ SSD. The screen is kinda terrible and the Radeon 4200 is not supported much. Linux runs like crap thanks to that video card, windows 8.1 is passable though. Battery life not good, but I have a stupid large battery that gives me more than just a couple of hours.

Neither well, nor normal.

Late 2007 13.1 white macbook *sigh* wish I knew to wait another month for the 64 bit version. But back then I didnt know 32bit vs 64bit i was 90% computer hardware illiterate couldnt pick corect parts but still knew where every thing went.

I'm still using my Dell Dimension 4600i. I upgraded the RAM from 512 MB to 1,5 GB. The rest is still the same as the day it was bought on: socket 478 motherboard with Intel Pentium 4 @3.06 GHz (1core/2threads), integrated Intel Extreme Graphics with 96 MB of VRAM. It still had my original 120 GB IDE hard drive from Maxtor running though B) . It had Windows XP Home edition SP3 on it.
