Who build should i choose for better perfomance in game

Hello members,

I will buy new build and i don't know who build will be with better perfomance in 1440p and no bottlenecking.

First build who i want is:

MB: GB Z97-HD3

CPU: i5-4590

GPU: ASUS STRIX-GTX980TI GDDR5 6GB

The second recommended from friend build is:

MB: GB Z170

CPU: i7-6700

GPU: EVGA GTX 970 4gb

Is there any bottleneck in first build? Who of those builds i should buy for more perfomance in 1440p all maxed out settings in games?

The 980ti is much better for 1440p and even 4k gaming than the 970. I would recommend getting the 1080 for 500$ when it comes out at the end of May though

Dont get the 970 for 1440p gaming, it will do it, but not great

Second build won't even work. Parts are incompatible.

First build is better by far although it does have flaws such as not waiting for the GTX 1080 and pairing a Z97 mobo with a locked CPU.

Read my edit.

Pairing a Z170 with a locked CPU is pretty pointless unless you require certain features exclusive to that chipset.

Hyperthreading is rarely used these days for gaming - get yourself a i5 6500 and a cheaper H170/B150 mobo.

BTW, no way in hell are you going to have a good time at 1440p maxed out on a GTX 970.
