Buying a Gaming Laptop

I really want to buy a gaming laptop. My budget is about 500 to 700 euro, which is approximately 560 to 785 dollars.

I would like it to be able to run games such gta v even on low settings but without lag. Any suggestions?

The Dell Inspiron 7559 by 100 kilometers in front of the rest. At that budget, the Dell is your best option. In addition, it offers VERY easy access (1 screw) to the components and you can later upgrade it with more RAM, add an SSD/HDD, etc.

I believe the base model goes for around $700-800.

The Asus and the MSI are a bit too expensive.

The Lenovo seems to have a pretty slow cpu. Are you sure it can run games such as gta v without lag?

The Dell is on the edge of my budget.

Y700 comes with an i7 6700HQ
Dell comes with an i5 6300HQ

In both cases the limiting factor is the 960M

Wellll... In order to find the laptops and their lowest values i searched for them on ebay.

The first one to pop up was this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Y700-15ACZ-80NY0007US-15-6-Notebook-8GB-1TB-A10-8700P-/272217771035?hash=item3f61718c1b:g:1qUAAOSwd3dXFsfv

It doesn't say which cpu exactly it has but it does say it is 1.8 GHz xD

The Lenovo laptop is out of your budget's league. The Dell is the cheapest option by far. And it comes in 4 variants, with both i5s and i7s. The only difference between the i5 and i7 is the hyperthreading function. And you don't need that for gaming. :)

It's 1.8GHz base and 3.2GHz Boost IIRC (may be a bit lower) - that's just a different model of the Y700. It's okay but you can do better :)

Drop the crystal ball for a sec. There are better laptops than the Dell, we need to figure out local prices

To be completely fair, Dell sells in more countries than Lenovo. And the new Lenovo is priced at around 1000USD, unlike the Dell, which offers the same GTX960M throughout their whole range of 7559s. The only difference between the Dells are the CPUs and storage/RAM, which can all be easily upgraded later, after the purchase. Lenovo can also be upgraded, but the base price is higher.

I'm not talking about the Lenovo atm. You can find other options from Clevo, HP and even some from Asus.

OP - where are you from? Prices on the HP Pavilion Gaming and Asus GL552?

I would agree with a Clevo, but depending on where OP is from, he might have a surprise in pricing, since the branding is different in most parts of the world.

Hence why I asked for his country :D

Here a 960M Clevo is 200$ cheaper than the Dell

With the same specs? Sweet. 600 dollars for a laptop with those specs is a dream.
