So as the title says my GTX 950 (Asus strix one) artifacts in League of Legends. And if you don't know what it is, its a MOBA that can be run easily on something like an R7 250. The overclock I have is 140+ mhz on the core and +40 mhz on the memory resulting in a clock speed of this:

Boost Cloclk: 1532mhz

Memory Clock: 3348 mhz

My GPU averaged around 65C while playing LOL and when I did my stress test in Uningine Valley, I had no artifacts. But when I play LOL there are frequents artifacts, so whats up?

Note: My GPU has never crashed before, and I've had this problem for a couple months but only now decided to get to the bottom of it.

try running it without overclock

increase voltage

monitor the clock speeds while you're playing

For some reason I can't increase the voltage, even after I go into the settings and check "Unlock voltage control"

It's probably voltage locked so you'll be limited to only overclocks that are stable by adjustin power limit. Ignore memory for now and start at +50 on the core and go up from there.

If you have Firestrike that's a little bit better for testing as bad overclocks are more likely to fail.

Is voltage lock something that asus did or nvidia?

That would be an Asus thing. There should be other Asus cards without the lock, in fact most cards instead just limit the amount of voltage you can add but yours sounds like it is just completely blocked.

MSI Afterburner prevents you from upping the voltage on the GTX 950

EVGA's precision thingy did allow me to increase voltage and thus let me overclock further.

Try EVGA's tool.
