I don’t actually game all that much, but I would like to get more into it. At the moment I primarily spend my time doing college stuff, and youtube (creating content, but 90% is strictly consuming media). Relating to gaming, I usually spend up to 2 hours a day playing Starcraft 2, a RC car simulator and a RC helicopter simulator(up to 4-5/day on weekends).

Suggest me a parts list, please and thank you, that includes everything a normal gamer would want **plus an optical drive, a wifi card, a ~$450-$550 monitor, 16GB ram, decent storage, and room for a GTX 1070**

**All parts must be from any combination of either Amazon, Newegg, or a Micro Center**

This is what I have from another forum: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/T2BQ3C as a base suggestion that looks okay to me, I’m not an expert though, and this will be my first legit PC.

changed the i5 to a xeon b/c basically a 4790/4770 without igpu/OC

also changed monitor, still 1440p 144hz but ips so better color's, since this build is focused more on media content and less gaming

Thanks for taking the time and making this list. I really like it. I wasn’t too sure about the case and monitor within the original list.

What is your favorite case for around $100?

I wouldn’t need to buy a CPU cooler unless I OC the chip and had a board that could do OC?

Should go for an i7 over an i5

and I'd probably stick to AMD, because a free-sync 1440p 144hz IPS display is going to be $200 less than a G-sync one last I checked, if you're waiting on your GPU just wait for polaris 10, it'll cost the same as the 390 at worst.

Also the HAF XB is pretty much the best case ever, unless you want a silence optimized case

Yeah, that’s what bums me out, not having a window for an old school drive.

I think I’ll go with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro. Those slots are for drives, right?

Sorry, is now $150 more for the G-sync equivalent that runs at 165hz I guess, but probably not worth the extra cash there.

There's a 1440p 21:9 display that can OC to 200hz, not sure why they don't have a free-sync version though
