I brought this http://www.microcenter.com/product/424145/Desktop_2TB_7,200_RPM_SATA_III_6Gb-s_35_Internal_Solid_State_Hybrid_Drive_(SSHD)_STCL2000400 2 terabyte SSHD at microcenter a few days ago, however, once getting windows 10 on a flash drive and trying to install it, windows greets me with this message:

any ideas? is this hybrid drive somehow not compatible with my pc or what?

Does windows allow you to format it?

Do you have access to a Mac or a Linux PC that you can reformat the drive on?

It may be an issue with that the drive is larger than 2TB depending on what OS you're installing and you may need some special drivers first.

Hey :)

As the guys suggested, the OS shouldn't have any issues running off a Hybrid drive. the easiest way would be to plug the drive in an already working PC and fill it with zeros, thus wiping any info that may be in the way of the OS.
As the guys suggested, deleting the partitions from the installer should also help with the issue.

Try doing that if you don't have any valuable info on the drive and post back with the results!

Hey, glad to see you've managed to resolve it! MAke sure you keep an eye on the drive's health every once in a while just to be on the safe side. Enjoy and feel free to post back if there's anything else!
