My friend told me that when I use my 120 GB SSD that has my Windows 10 to games and other apps is slowing it down and not recommended. I have downloaded about 40GB worth of stuff to the SSD plus the Windows 10. Should I listen to my friend or just ignore his complaining ?

It should still be fine however I'd still advise you aswell to get a 250 GB one cause you might want to have more on it in the future. Also those windows updates can grow a little big over time.

ignore him, you should use a HDD for bulk storage like pictures and games that dont fit on your SSD but only 40GB? thats fine

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

i put frequently played games on my SSD, as well as windows and all of my softwares

it doesnt matter for an SSD to be filled up or have it's data "fragmented", it won't affect the speed much

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Honestly, I install my games to my Hard drive then use GameSave Manager to move then to my SSD while playing them full time, when I am done (not playing that often or beat the game, or find that the move does not help the load times) the program has a nice feature to move it back. (it remembers all the things it moves).

Just Fyi it uses junctions to trick the OS into thinking it is still installed in the default place. I have personally had 0 problems with junctions (both those made by this program and one's i have done manually) but some persons have.

Ideally you should keep 25% of your drive free. Other than that, go nuts and fill it up. You won't see the same performance from a 128gb drive as a 250gb though, so it won't be super fast from the get go. I'd consider an upgrade to a 1tb drive in the future, at the prices they're dropping to they're an excellent option.

Mmm, not entirely true. You shouldn't fill an SSD to capacity.
