igpu vs. entry level gpu

For a budget 300 dollar build I'm considering dropping buying an external GPU and using my iGPU. For Intel iGPUs I've considering HD 4600 and above and for AMD I've considered integrated R7's and above. Would entry level cards be beaten by these iGPU's?

Maybe 14/16 nm entry level cards might be better, but as of now, iGPU is better.

I think Ivan means maybe in the future when the prices come down and they release entry level cards, they'll be worth it. be very wary of crappy deals and READ REVIEWS

Buy a Skylake system. The iGPUs are almost the same as the AMD APUs.

R7 iGPUs (in A8 and A10s) are essentially a R7 250(X) so anything bellow a R7 360/260/750 Ti is the same or weaker than the iGPUs on APUs.

Intel HD is crap.

Probably, but it depends on the game.

Not anymore. Skylate and Iris pro is almost the same as AMD APUs.

Nope - Iris Pros (the ones you mean) are on Broadwell's 5775C and 5675C. The Skylake ones don't have the ultrafast L4 dRAM cache and the results are crappy iGPU performance once again

Not really, APUs have proper drivers and you can put in crossfire with a dGPU.

The mobile 6770HQ and 6920HQ have Iris Pro,

some desktop 67...C are coming soon enough

Again, just under the 7870k. Plus you can actually upgrade the i3 to a decent CPU. 7870k, you're stuck with it. No upgrades.

Did you even look at the intel page that was linked?

The max clock is just 100mhz slower than the igpu on the 6700k

That's why I linked the other video... Also Passmark is a good quick number check. Not the most accurate but its not terrible.

I stand mistaken... I thought skylake had the same igpus as brodwell, but the ones on brodwell are much faster.

No its not. Its 53% And for a CPU that's not being sold as an APU, that's pretty good. Again. You also can't upgrade the 7870k to anything. You can throw an i5 or even an i7 on the skylake build.
