Hey so I have a 980ti g1 gaming oc 1480mhz and was able to find a gtx 980ti hybrid that can oc to 1510 for $460 "USD".

Should I get the gtx980ti or wait for to get the 1080 or 1080ti? My budget is $700 and I do play at 4k.

I'd say wait for the 1080 due to the fact that sli doesn't scale well in a lot of games. If you really want to max those games on 4k you'd probably have to wait for 1080TI (if there is going to be one).

SLI scales perfectly fine at higher resolutions in AAA games.  From the looks of it the 1080 isn't much faster than a 980 ti, so two 980 ti's is going to destroy a 1080 in performance.

But the micro stutters become worse on 4K right? I mean this article is a year old but they claim that playing on 4K can lead to micro stutters (I don't know much about this, just asking).

Microstutter will still be there even on Gsync panels.

GTX 1080 overclocked to 2.1ghz on the reference card at 50% fan speed and under 60c is pulling 980Ti SLI numbers.

6.46 for oc.

If I'm not mistaken was it not  HardwareCanucks that got called out when the 980 got released when they said it was going to out perform the 780ti in benchmarks and didn't or got even scores from other tech channels. I remember it seemed like most tech channels were ignoring the 700 series graphics cards when the 900 series came out I know this is a little different but..... I just wondering why no one is doing 980ti sli vs 1080 or titian x sli vs 1080. You do a  search online for it and not a whole lot comes up but if you do a search for 980 or 970 sli vs 1080 you can find it ever where.

I'm not mad haha my fire strike is 39k on the graphics

And Iv seen the fire strike of the 1080 at 21k

so no way is the 1080 nearly doubling in performance from the oc

Just a quick side note here. For SLi to work don't you need 2 of the same exact card and I'm not talking about the same chip but I mean the same card made by the same board partner and same model. As there is so much information out there you don't know what is fact and what is fiction lol.
