I'm currently using a wireless adapter that came with my motherboard (Asus Maximus VIII Hero Alpha) and its not the best. I have a Netgear router that has a regular connection and a faster 5G one. My phone and laptop are able to pick it up but the adapter I have doesn't. On top of the that, I randomly drop my internet connection.

Anyways, whats the best I can get? Any suggestions?

You can replace the pcie mini card the motherboard came with for a much better experience. The best non-insane one on the market right now is the Intel 8260 AC card. This is better than all but the 3x3 mu-mimo solutions right now and is relatively cheap (the mu-mimo 3x3 solutions start at like 120 dollars, compared to 20-40 for the 8260)

The TP-LINK 4800 is amazing. Compatible with every OS, great range, supports high speeds - used several myself and can recommend them 100000000% percent.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Best USB wifi I've ever used, works quite well, doesn't ever drop, consistent and reliable. Also able to pick up my fastest channels.
