Issue with cooling

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

Start with the easiest parts first. I'd recommend reseating the cooler and seeing if that helps.

Hey, I've had a PC I built for about 3 years now.

I've been using a Corsair H60 water cooler ever since I built it and it seemed to do the job well.

recently though, while under full load for even a short time the CPU gets very hot.... Over 90 degrees C hot...

the fan is definitely still working, but is there a way to check that the heat sink is still working properly? Should I just get a new one. Or could this maybe be as simple as reapplying the thermal paste?

this may also be a dumb question, but is it possible that the liquid in the tubes evaporated over time? Just trying to think of every possible reason that I'd be seeing temps like this while supposedly "liquid-cooled"

Listen to the pump too, could be wearing out, not super likely at that age but still worth a check

Good news, reseating with new thermal paste seemed to do the trick... Went down from over 90 degrees at full load to 60 max. Thanks everyone.
