Hello, sorry if this is inappropriate for this thread I'm new to this forum.

Anyways, I have a budget problem. The things I want to buy is slightly above 900 dollars. I have a budget of 1000 dollars. Problem is I want to buy an okay monitor and maybe a headset.  Anyone got any ideas on how to lower the price tag but still not change the performance of the computer too much? :)

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 HDMI DP 2xDVI 4GB - 300 $

Go with non-OC'able cpu and a mobo with it. Like i5 6500 and H170

Main gaming pc: Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh Performance - Ryzen 5 5600X - MSI GTX1080Ti Armor - AMD Wraith Spire RGB - ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x8GB 3200MHz - 500GB M.2 (and a few other drives)

Gaming laptop: ASUS GL552VW: i7 6700HQ - GTX960M 2GB - 8GB DDR4 2166Mhz RAM - 1TB 7200RPM HDD

If you're really strapped for cash, you can mount your motherboard to a piece of wood to cut out the cost of a case and buy a used gtx 970. A lot of people are selling or will be selling their 970's as the new 1080 and 1070 cards were just released.

I'd definitely recommend waiting to get the graphics card, like Hackentosher said in a couple weeks those good cards will be flying out of peoples computers and hitting the market cheap, and if you really want new the prices might drop...or you could get a probably better 1070... and uh, definitely get a compatible mobo and cpu or you won't be doing anything skylake "Skylake is used in conjunction with Intel 100 Series chipsets, also known as Sunrise Point " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skylake_%28microarchitecture%29
