I have a old computer that is on windows 10 running on a ssd it has 1ghz processor, 4GB Ram and it is very laggy and slow. Most of the time I use Chrome and watching videos online. I want to repurpose this pc and make it working for watching videos online. Is there any that are easy and simple to use?

Linux, something like Mint should be good :)

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

"Here is some advice that might have gotten lost somewhere along the way in your life.

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

What about elemenatry os?

Very heavy distro.

Here is a list of lightweight distros:

Try all of them and choose the one you prefer the most.

I would suggest CloudReady and turn it into a "chromebook"

It will have chrome preinstalled haha

that doesn't seem free

Elementary OS exaly is free just like most other Linux distro´s.

But Elementary OS is based on Ubuntu 14.04LTS so its basicly realy old.

So its not worth looking at it, as long as they dont come with a new version based on LTS16.04

Next to that, its also not that lightweight either.

Lubuntu, Puppy, LXLE etc are lightweight distro´s.

Most distro´s with LXDE or LXQT desktops are pretty lightweight.
