gtx 1070 Will my I5-4460 bootleneck a GTX1070 or the yet to be announced 1060 ??

hey people , i'm planning to upgrade my GPU soon and i want to know if my Intel I5-4460 will bottleneck the GTX 1070 or the yet to be announced 1060 ??

Don't take my word for it and listen to other peoples opinions, but I don't think it will. For games at least a graphics card is always the better upgrade if the CPU is solid.

No need to upgrade that CPU is valid for a long time but if you see a cheap i7-4790K why not?

so even if the 1070 is better than the TITAN X this i5-4460 won't bottleneck it ???  and bare in mind that it bottlenecks the 980 so do you think the pascal architecture makes difference ?

1070 is probably equal to it, that 2x non-sense was VR only...

 

BTW: 980 to 1070 is not worth it...

so you are saying that the 1070 is equal to titanX ? 
and btw i have a 960 i just tested the 980 once 
also even if the 1070 is as powerful as the titan X it won't bootleneck ? (sorry for the unending questions  )

so after this conversation i think it will not bottleneck a 1060 which i think will be about as powerful as a 970 or 980 ....do u agree ?

We cannot be 100% sure about the GPU being equal to that but yes most likely!

No one knows buddy.

Chances are, no.

i5s can handle pretty much any single gpu card with the exception of extremely CPU heavy games ofcourse.

If game is optimised well, it won't be a problem for your CPU.

 

But right now we have no idea about 1070 specs. We only know it will have 8GB GDDR5 ram.

No idea how many cores, clock speeds etc.

I hope it will be 2048 cuda cores at 1600-1700 stock and 2000MHz OC, but those are just my wishes.
