Intel HD530 & GTX960M

Go to solution Solved by Mr.Meerkat,

Go into the Nvidia drivers/software and instead of letting it automatically choose what it's going to use, force it to use the 960m instead :D

Hey guys! I recently got a new laptop, the first game I tested was Minecraft (it's downloaded and installed fast). But it was using the Intel HD530 instead of the GTX960M. How do I make games use the GTX960M? I have already downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers.

I also tested CS:GO, which was running ultra settings, 1080p about 70-90 fps.

Less demanding games run on the iGPU. There is no way to fix this. It's a bug in Nvidia's driver (More specifically, in Optimus).

Usually the game will start with the GTX960M when drivers and GeForce Experience is installed

But if not just right click then launch the app using dedicated GPU instead

It does work. For me at least. I set it to pick the Nvidia GPU, started Minecraft (because I can see what GPU it's using) and it shows it's using the GTX960M

Consider yourself lucky then. I've not been able to get it working for 7 months now (have tried numerous fixes)
