Hey guys! I ordered a new laptop 2 days ago and it came in yesterday. It's the ASUS ROG GL552VW (i7 6700HQ, 8GB RAM and GTX960M). I already have some programs like Steam, revo uninstaller (to uninstall bloatware) and WinRAR. But are there any other programs I might like to use/need?

Thanks in advice!

Essential programs for me are:
Chrome (you can choose another browser of choice too), Gimp (any other image manipulation program can be chosen too), NotePad++ (because I need a more advanced text editor than notepad) and those are my essentials.

It of course depends on what you will be doing on your PC, do you need a video editing program? uPlay or Origin too? Discord? CPU-Z, GPU-Z, MSI Afterburner or any other programs similar to see CPU and GPU info? etc.

Chrome, Space Sniffer, some sort of document producing software such as open office or microsoft office

MSI afterburner,

I already tried MSI Afterburner, it shows some weird numbers on gou/mem clock and 0 degrees celcius on cpu.

It all depends on what you intend to use the computer for.

Gaming and some school work.

I use OpenHardwareMonitor to see temps, usage and clockspeeds.

Foobar2000 is a music player, it's pretty good and HIGHLY customizable

I don't listen to music too often, but when I do, I use spotify. I don't download music that much.
