Physically rebuild a USB memory stick

Hi

This USB is struggling to physically go into the USB port on a PC because of the fact it's housing is broken. Does any one know of any creative/DIY methods I can rebuild or use something similar to get it picking up by PCs again (like using an old USB type A connector, getting rid of the plastic inner piece and using that for the memory stick)

Maybe get a old cable and try soldering the wires to the contacts? probably not a good idea but in the worst case scenario, it's something :P

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

If it has a cover, make a mould of it and try to resemble the thickness of the material that it's housing used to have
