GPU Cooling Problems. Intel StockCooler ftw?

Hi. My Cousin got a pretty shitty PC. An older HP Pavilion. In there is a gt440 gpu. It's always overheating, because the Cooling Block is like 4mm high with an 40 mm Fan attached to it. I was wondering whether it's would be possible to attach an Intel Stock heatsink (4670k) to it, to improve the old lady :)

Is it possible? yes...

is it plausible...

not so much, you can, its just really hard to do xD

If you can do it, go for it, you just might need some zipties xD

Am i abled to archive enough mounting pressure by using zip ties? o.O

I doubt you get much better performance that way. And Linus uses zipties to stupid things, so... You should.

Well guys... I just did it. The Intel heatsink dosent fit, so I grabbed an AMD one. I mounted it with zipties and attached an old 120mm casefan to it. It looks so freaking ugly and scary, but works fine. The thermal performance is soo much better know. With its Stock cooling solution the GPU was reaching 95 °C within 1 min under load. After my ghetto Mod it runs at 78 °C after 15 minutes under full load in Furmark :) while Gaming it's chilling around 60°C instead of 95-100. finally no more Bluescreens!

Thanks for helping me out ;)
