Couple of things. You need to get a better power supply. You WILL regret it. The evga 500w is not terrible but I recommend spending 20 dollars more on a decent 500w psu. And i would also recommend an SSD. If you are gaming, you can drop the i7 to an i5 6600k to get a better psu and SSD.

Yes it will work but you made a few errors

No point in getting a i7 6700k on a locked motherboard, overclocking on it is dangerous

Either get a z170 motherboard or change your CPU to an i7 6700

If your putly gaming I would get an i5 6600k or an i5 6500

CPU cooler, not really worth getting a cheap air tower if you have a unlocked cpu, either get a nice 240mm AiO or a beefy heatsink

DDR3 is not compatiable with Z170 motherboard so get DDR4

Your powersupply is kinda limited in terms of upgrading, I would get around a 600w for an i7 and a 1070, maybe sli in the future

The GPU will hopefully be a GTX 1070.

also, you cannot overclock on that motherboard. You can only overclock on z170 boards and this is a b150. So getting a k CPU is a waste of money unless you change the motherboard

Whats your overall budget, maybe we can put something better together.

Could get a better PSU (something from XFX or seasonic will suit better or something like an evga g2 :D) and that motherboard isn't going to allow you to OC your CPU at all as you need a z170 for that :P so yeah...

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

The power supply is not a solid choice at all. RAM is not compatible. CPU is unlocked but you don't have an overclocking board.

What's your reason for the i7? If you're just gaming, you don't need it by much, the money would be better spent on better quality components.

Here's a nice build with similar/improved specs at about the same price as what your build is.

Core i5 will be fine for gaming realistically speaking, I threw in a 240mm watercooler with some red LED SP120s for style and overclocking, nice motherboard for overclocking and also red to match a theme. Red RAM (16GB), black/red case, added an SSD because no modern computer should be without one, power supply is of a much nicer quality and another 120mm fan for exhaust. It'll be a pretty nice looking black/red system. I also accounted for the price of the GPU and left room for a nice fan controller.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I just wanted to clarify a few things people have already said.

About the power supply, while 500w should be enough on a single card build there is a few things you should consider. Quality on PSUs is usually rated by a bronze to platinum level, this is a good indicator of the actual sustained load the PSU will handle. While the box may say 500w the sustained output may only be around 400w. So my recommendation is to get a 600w Gold rated PSU to account for any future upgrades and the normal degradation on the PSU. Personally unless you are running a setup with more than 2 modern GPUs you should be fine with this. If you are only planning on running a single 1070 then just get a gold rated 500w.

If you plan on over clocking (that's what the K at the end of the processor # means) you will want a motherboard that supports it. If you don't plan on it there is no need for a K branded version of a CPU. I'd also highly suggest an SSD for your OS just so your PC boots fast. Infact I'd get a ~250gb SSD to start and then later add an HDD for additional storage as your game collection grows.
