  1. 1. Which?

    • Windows 8.1
      1
    • Windows 10
      7

I cant decide whether to upgrade my windows 8.1 to windows 10 or stay at 8.1

Would all my apps still work as per normal? Like games etc

Anyone who had any experience upgrading from 8.1 to 10 please leave me some feedback! Thank you dearly :)

I'll let LTT community decide :)

Many of the preexisting apps and games will work on windows 10, with very few exceptions.  When I had upgraded, I hadn't lost any of my files or applications. The only driver that Needed to be updated was that of my wireless internet adapter. Also windows 10 was made highly adaptable, So even old games from windows xp would run. an example being Half life 2.

How did it screw up your desktop? And just make sure lastest drivers are installed for your AMD card

You will need to remove and reinstall your graphics drivers

how is it screwed up?

Also you should have ideally done a clean install

Yeah run a disk clean up and there is an option to delete old windows installations

or if you have the space keep it there for a few weeks in case you need to go back

Use a driver cleaner to get rid of old drivers, and replace them all with the latest W10 drivers

Can i just use the windows built in disk cleanup and delete old drivers? They have that option!

Sure, give it a shot.

DDU is just the latest version of Driver Sweeper. It got a name change some time ago, but it's still useful for the same things. If the Disk Cleanup utility doesn't fix it, give DDU a try. If it comes to it, a clean install of Windows 10 should fix just about anything.
