In the future i plan on spending money on a good monitor for professional photo and video editing,

So when talking about color reproduction...whats the difference between sRGB and AdobeRGB?

Is one more important than the other ?

Correct. However, it must be said that the "industry standard" is sRGB.
This is probably because, most monitors today that people use, can barely due sRGB correctly (like I mean: not even somewhat close)

Also, digital cameras that everyone buys (or on cell phones) only support sRGB spectrum ('cause it cost money to have better sensors).

To achieve Adobe RGB, your display must be able to do 10-bit colors per channel, so: ~1.07 billion colors. (oh and (assuming you have a 1080p or higher resolution) you need to use DisplayPort, without any adapters, and compatible graphic card)

Some monitors that support 1.07 billion colors at the consumer level:

 - Dell U2410 / U2711 / U3011

 - Dell U2413 / U2713H / U3014

 - LG 27EA83-D

 - ViewSonic VP2772

 - ASUS PA279Q
