Okay, so I'm getting some birthday money soon so I was browsing Ebay for some used cards. (Building soon and used is my only option.) And I found this. Can someone explain why it's priced so damn cheap? I'm so confused. I see that it's been used for several years, but at a low price like that I'm just confused.

Because that is not the price of the card. It's up for auction.

Starting bid is $0.99.

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

Ebay is a bid side, so you bid for the item. THe buyer hopefully wishes to sell it for a higher price, but 0,99 is the starting price.

Obviously. But why would he/she set the price so low? Even $50 would be a much more logical starting price. Either this person is very stupid or something is wrong with the card that I haven't realized yet, or the seller didn't choose to disclose in the description.

The owner probably did a lot of bitcoin mining on it, also, it says "bid"

Because it going to be listed 1st in the search options "Lowerest Price 1st". Just because the introductory price is lower doesn't mean it will sell for less. I guarantee more people have seen that listing compared with another list with the starting bid of $50

How risky is it to buy a mined card?

shorter life span :D

tbh mining cards arent as bad as reflowed cards ;)

just buy your gpu new if possible, unless the source is reliable and allows refunds for up to 60 days or something (because reflown cards can be functional for a couple weeks before dying again)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Ugh. So many decisions. I'd rather not buy a card that'll die in 2 weeks.. but it's such a steal. And a 290X.
