well if i'm forced to go for a new case i'd go with something like an atx case like you said, and probably a higher end gpu

  • 4 years later...

I have a pre built Dell G5. It has 9th windows 10 and an I5 with a GTX 1660 super. I want to get better cooling and I want to upgrade to a better case. I am not sure but I was wondering if someone could tell me if I can. It is the same one from the Best Buy budget video they did.

Holy necropost man! damn 4 years old you should've started a new thread

anyway it looks like the G5 has a proprietary PSU and power cables so upgrades can be difficult, but still possible. Mounting a non-standard PSU in a normal case has challenges but sometimes you can find mounting adapters. Same goes for the power cables if you need to extend them or connect to a different connector there are usually adapters you can find. But at what cost? extra connections especially made by non-standard ones can be made at low quality and have the potential to break in the most awful manner (fire).

why do you want a new case? you don't gain any performance by looking flashy, save your money and spend it on something more useful to performance.
