Sell GTX 970?

Nope, it's a good overclocker and I can get almost stock 980 performance. But I have the chance to sell it for like $350 used (dollar inflation in my country) I bought it brand new at launch for $310

im trying to sell mine for roughly € 300 but noone is willing to buy it,  i would say yes sell it if you can hold out like i can otherwise you might get less for it then what you want

Thanks, i'll do it. I'm not actually scamming him, $330-340 is the normal price for a used GTX 970 (here). I got lucky.

It's for a friend, he asked me to build him a PC, and my used 970 fits his budget perfectly.

I don't legitimately need this upgrade, currently I have a 1080p monitor with an i5 4570. Pretty "meh" build but I have the chance to sell it for more than I paid for it.

I'm also saving some money so that $340 dollars + savings could get me a new 1070 or a Fender Telecaster, whatever I finally decide lol.

 

Tbh I don't even know if my CPU will be able to handle the 1070, they say that it's faster than a Titan X

If you are able to play all your games right now then don't upgrade. IMO I only upgrade when the part I am using is no longer doing the lob. For example, once your GTX 970 no longer plays games at your preferred resolution, then it is time to buy a new one. Only upgrade when you actually need it rather than when you want to.

You're damn right, it's just that this looks like a good chance to sell it, since I know he will completely pay for it in cash. The 970 is doing decent for me at 1080, it struggles in some games and I know that DX12 Train is coming.
