To begin with. I had issues with PCE-AC68 on Windows 10 for a long time (although not immediately after upgrading to W10. Like after two months). I would get BSODs intermittently that the driver to the PCE-AC68 card was causing. This thread explains the problem I was having in greater detail.   I got my PCE-AC68 replaced with a new one from the retailer yet the problems with the BSODs persisted.

After I did a clean install of Windows 7 I was getting these timeouts and losing the internet connection for a few seconds intermittently. (No BSODS). Got some tips on this forum and I changed the DNS IP settings to these static adresses and I disabled IPv6 and it's working somewhat properly.

Anyhow I feel these solutions are like a band-aid and I really want to upgrade back to Windows 10 before the deadline.

Is the answer as simple as a faulty motherboard or something?

nothing of your build would cause problems with windows 10 though

even your wifi card have driver for windows 10 `-`

so im suspecting hardware issues that are causing those BSOD

the fastest way to test is by swapping your components with any spare parts you have lying around

though not much people have spare parts

or it could be other softwares clashing with your wifi card driver

or maybe some outdated driver for your motherboard that you havent updated?

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

On the driver front I've tried everything in Windows 10. Every single one on the asus site and beta drivers. I even tried a broadcom one for a Lenovo Yoga 3 machine that kinda worked but capped the bandwith. I tried  the AC68 card in another windows 10 machine. That machine didn't crash but I still had the card  replaced from the retailer.

perhaps there are some drivers clashing with your wifi card, try contacting asus

i've had somewhat similar issue when asus's game first software was causing issue with my nvidia software, so i uninstalled game first and everything worked flawlessly

I tried to contact them. They weren't much help. And I've tried uninstalling other wifi drivers in that...component list. I don't know what it's called in english. And personally I somehow doubt it since I went a few months with no problems whatsoever and then I had problems in both Windows 10 and Windows 7.

I broke the wire on the antenna. A new antenna cost almost as much as that card so that why I bought it. The combo card is stashed away in a box.

And I do not have game first installed.

try locate and uninstall the driver for that card? that might be causing issues

you probably wont find it in device manager (the component list) as it is not connected

I can try and turn on dynamic DNS and IPv6 and try downloading stuff from the internet.

But I don't hold much hope. Still I can't have updates turned off at all times. It becomes another band-aid solution.

I can already see that the download is acting the same as always. Jumping up and down, up and down and never stabilizing. I'll wait to see if the net falls out to.

I know this may sound stupid, but are you able to use a wired connection with a home plug?

Just for a while to eliminate the wireless for now.

No but I've borrowed a D-Link DWA-140 and I've had no issues with that on wifi.

And before anyone asked I've also run a 24 hour test on my ram. I've basically been through most things.

So, for now you've had no problems with the other Wi-Fi card?

It's not a race to the bottom.
