Cool, use it.

Just now, Electronics Wizardy said:

Id get a 6700k as its clock much higher and lets you oc, othervise id get a cheaper motherboard.

Id suggest getting a bigger ssd if you can as there won't be much space left after windows gets installed.

Yeah, I am gonna get a WD 1TB drive later.

you're already getting a z170 board, get an unlocked chip if possible

120gb ssd doesnt have good value, add a few bucks and get a 240gb

that psu is... not for an i7 build unless you dont plan to run a gpu in it. i recommend M12II for budget, EVGA GS/GQ/G2/B2/P2 for a high end rig. wattage depends on what gpu you're planning to get

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

I wonder, maybe after this month the 6700k would go down like $30. I hope... in that case would most definitely go with the 6700k. Only time will tell

1. If budget allows, get a 6700K, although 6700 can still be OCed via BLCK, but please add a good aftermarket CPU cooler

2. Get a higher speed RAM, around 2800 ~ 3000MHz, this opens lots of possibly for OC

3. Get a Seasonic S12II 620W for that money for PSU, it's much more reliable

In all honesty, you could probably save money on Windows.

I've tried this website before and haven't encountered issues.

http://www.kinguin.net/category/22175/windows-10-home-oem-key/

Although do keep in mind that this is and OEM key, meaning

it ties to the mobo

Changed psu to 400 watts, not modular tho :(

I really suggest you increase the PSU wattage. I have no idea what GPU you will be using, but 400 is pretty low.

well... what gpu are you pairing it with? 400W cant power any high end gpu

also, you might want a beefier cooler for that i7, unless you dont plan to push it far for now

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

How about cpu cooler, ram, cpu, and storage? Are those ok?

might need a better cooler if you wanna overclock the cpu more, dark rock 3 is a good alternative. or dark rock pro 3, NH-D15 is even better

the others are fine, except the psu. but it'll be fine if you wont add a gpu

Not gonna overclock, only reason 6700k was in there was because it has 4ghz compared to 6700's 3.4
