After reading about the gaming lag, on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910W8) with 5.1.1 Lollipop, and experiencing it, I've decided to try

if downgrading from 5.1.1 Lollipop to 4.4 KitKat will resolve this issue, but will it trip the KNOX counter and void my warranty?
I've tried other methods such as a full reset, but my issue hasn't been solved.

Gaming lag? What kind of games? The phone is actually still very capable of doing many things, it lagged most probably because modern day's apps demand a lot more system resources to run. I would love to test it out for you, but I already tripped the KNOX counter on my Note 4.

It's a phone. Not a hand held gaming device. You're probably running the phone with every app still open using 100% ram.

Well, I am so sorry for being bored. If you think Real Racing 3 takes up all the RAM, I am sorry to say, but you are so very wrong.

I researched much more into the topic and it seems, the KNOX counter is only tripped if you install anything not signed by Samsung, but I feel very skeptical. I mostly play Real Racing 3 and just recently tested a CS;GO look-a-like named Critical OPS, which sadly, didn't run so smoothly, tried with low graphics as well. The Note 4 should be fully capable of it since a Late-2012 phone, such as my old iPhone 5 ran Real Racing 3 just fine.

My friend have the Galaxy Note 4 and i was comparing my IPhone 5s with Note 4 on  Asphalt 8: Airborne, It was soo laggy on Note 4 and i was discussing with him that why you have bought a $500 junk in which u cant play a game on decent frame rate. But i must say this isnt hardware fault its an Android OS fault, its not good optimized yet. Donot downgrade to kitkat, wait for a while maybe they will launch new update for your note 4.

Still waiting on 6.0 Marshmallow, Samsung says it has released it to Canada in February, but I see no sign of it, I had a glance at the OS Upgrade Schedule for the Note 4 on Fido's Website, I see no date of arrival or availability, kind of disappointed. At this point, I am wanting to void the warranty and just get stock android.

I'm on CyanogenMod 13 on my Note 4 and it does not make a difference when gaming, still the same as on TouchWiz. As I have said, it's the apps, as they get updated over the months, they require more and more system resources. This is what actually forces you to upgrade your phone, not because the phone is not capable of doing everyday things anymore, its the apps you use on a daily basis.

Yea thats the main disappointment about andoird OS scheduling. I had HtC 616 it was on 4.2.2 stock and on HTC software tracker there was a date for new software lolipop 5.0 on Q4.2015. But it never came on any region then i decided to live chat on HTC customer Support, they clearly said we are not working on this anymore. After that i decided never to use any android mobile ever. Huge Disappointment.

You don't have to wait for your region to get Marshmallow. Any generic firmware (aka unbranded) will work just fine. You can download it from sammobile.com and flash it via ODIN.

When it comes to flashing doesnt it means your are Rooting your device?

Not necessarily, but at this point, Not rooting or tripping KNOX, is no longer on my radar,

Many say stock Android is way faster with no bloatware, unlike what Samsung does,

I guess in this situation, Apple is superior lol
