Do i need a boot drive

so im building my first computer i have the case a NZXT s340 and im ordering the CPU, motherboard,ram, and the PSU.  the only thing im looking at now is storage.  I was thinking of going with a 1TB HDD for strage for like games and the OS to save money.  Do i need a dedecated boot SSD

Honestly it's something you can add later if you're tight on cash.

Go for a 2TB hybrid drive from Seagate. It has SSD cache, so it's not as fast as an ssd, but it's quicker than a hdd

 

I've used them before in other people's computers and I would definitely recommend them

No but he difference is insane. About 2-3 minutes on WD green to 9 seconds on Samsung 850 Pro. When I mean boot I mean everything is ready and steam is open and so is all my peripheral software.

If money is tight, buy a small SSD just for the OS... way quicker than getting an SSHD as above suggested. Can pick up a 120GB SSD for like $40
