Board has 8 ram slots, you have 1, gonna look so empty :P

Also, since you arent going with SLI, get the 5820k.

I would reccomend you to get a 5820K. The clock speed difference of 200MHz is not worth 185$ IMO.

Athlon X2 for only 27.31$   Best part lists at different price points   Windows 1.01 running natively on an Eee PC

Should also change to a cheaper motherboard, no need for one like that with a single card and ram stick :/

Hi,

I had a rig with a 3930k in it, and I can tell you that 6 cores is not worth is right now. Unless you do hardcore rendering or something of the sort that will actually utilize it, don't bother.

Since I assume you are using this for gaming, I would recommend that you got z170, or maybe even back to z99, take the monetary difference and get an SLI rig. That will have a much greater impact on your gaming.

This will kick ass at gaming for the next several years. If you want to save some $$, you can go down on the RAM amount, and swap that H110i for a H100i.

Its a bit over your budget. If you hold off on the screen until you have the money, it will be well worth your wait.

I swapped the GPU you had with a cheaper one with higher clock. Regardless of what you end up doing, I would recommend that one.

Why are you suggesting old tech ? There is zero reason to buy Haswell over Skylake with a $2200 budget.

This is going to be a gaming rig. I traded off 1/3 of the CPU power for 2x the GPU power. Games need TONS of GPU power, and not so much CPU. Plus you can always OC those CPUs safely.

What legitimate reason besides "Its old" and "The new stuff is slightly faster" is there to go Skylake. Price/Performance wise, Skylake is crap compared to the previous gen with the cut prices.

Because there is no reason to go for haswell when skylake is the same price.
