FPS fluctuating like hell...

Hi,

 

so i wanted to play the new diablo 3 Season with some of my friends, but first of all, here is my rig.

 

i5 6600

ASUS Strix GTX 970 OC

16GB DDR4 - 2400

ASROCK Fatal1ty gaming K4

bequite L8 PurePower 630W

 

the thing is, as you might guess from the title, that my FPS arent stable at all - if i play in FullHD on High Settings, and set the max. FPS to 144, it's most of the times between 80-120 (it actually NEVER reached the 140ties).

If i am in a huge fight now, the FPS dip to a joke of 10-40 FPS. The CoreClock is fluctuating as well, changing like every 5 seconds (see attached GPU-Z log)

 

I noticed this is some of my games, but only in d3 (and csgo) on this level...

 

All NVIDIA Engery-Save options i could disable are already disabled in the control panel, no idea what i can do more.

csgo always does this. that's why everyone plays on low, to get 300 fps so when it dips it dips to 150.

thats not true ...

so first i am playing 4:3 on all low settings. 2nd, even then i only get 150FPS (which tipps to 40). 3rd with my old AMD HD 7950 i had a constant 300FPS, maximum drop was 280.

If it's just in one or two games, thats down to the game being poorly optimised. I've read through your log and it doesn't seem like anything abnormal is present, so i'd put it down to either your cpu having a problem or to the game being poorly optimised (more likely).

if your cpu was overheating or something, it could be thermal throttling or something. I think don_svetlio has the answer though, try that first.

installed the new driver, the fps drops where indeed lower. But they still couldn't hold a stable 60 or 144 FPS. My CPU is at max. 55° .. dont think thats the issue.

Did you use DDU to uninstall the driver 1st? In you're on windows 10, make sure you turn off windows updates.

i also feel some microstuttering, in almost every game. Just one Question, can this be a hardware issue? I mean that the GPU is just "broken"?

I just max the game out and get 150-200avg (btw SMAA and FXAA stuff gives you better FPS for some weird reason...)
